Good to chat last night. I like the basis of this very much. It wasn't what I was expecting to be honest but that's good. I was expecting a more black and white pencil led route which, actually, would probably be too cold. I think as well it would be very easy to go OTT - this first sketch is restrained. In a good way. It's quite strange seeing a character who you've lived with in your head brought to life via an image in someone else's head. I think the big head helps accentuate his vulnerability. A few questions. Will this style work well for the other characters? How do you imagine backgrounds, etc? How many drawings per story? Do you have the time to do all this? I'm being the responsible adult here - I would really love you to do this - and I think you'd do it brilliantly - in fact I think your style is kind of perfect for it - but this will be a lot of work - I assume - so if you want to let me down gently then now's the time. Your call. Anyway, let's keep in touch. The more I read your dream the weirder (or actually, strangely conventional!) it gets. Fighting with swords? Listen, I looked in the showers and I think you're probably fine...
Yeah I told my head of story my dream and he said "Hamish even your dreams are cliched" which was quite witty (for him...bastard). I guess we should do this "offline" Al...I'll send you an email
This Blog is to make me draw more...I'm going to try and do a drawing a day for a year. The rules are not very hard and fast. I don't have a scanner at home so I won't post every day. I apologise now for the lack of any coherent style or theme.
