I know I said I wasn't going to play catch up but now I'm only 6 drawings behind.yay.

This building is on my way home. I wonder what it shows.

(I can't work out how to post the video so just follow the link to the skeleton dance!)

Amarcord

This scene left a pretty indelible impression when I first saw it at about age 13.

Ok here's the deal. I'm 7 days behind. Rather than play catch up I'm going to put those 7 days aside and go day to day again. At some point I'll do them...I promise.

If you happen to be in a second hand bookshop

keep an eye out for Ronald Searle's the Second Coming of Toulouse Lautrec. I'll reward you handsomely for it.

Jimmy's Super Lunch

You're never really alone when you have a sketch book...even when your bike breaks down and you have to wait 10 minutes opposite Jimmy's Super Lunch to get picked up.

more of an excuse than an actual sketch

I messed up and didn't draw anything this weekend as I had an overwhelming need to devote all my spare time to learning the history of Masi bicycles. I now have knowledge of braze on derailleurs, campagnolo head sets and investment cast steel lugs. I'm wondering how long this particular obsession will last. 6 months to a year is my usual timeframe.

Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia

More evidence of my schoolgirl crush on all things Peckinpah. What a crazy movie!

robotgirlmonster2

I'm feeding the animation blog gods early this month. I felt like I'd eaten too many donuts after doing this drawing. Rendering is the high fructose corn syrup of doodles.

she's got Bob Marley vibes

My neighbor was busting this pretty intense rastafarian get-up this morning. We call her Bette Davis. She has an even more glamorous friend who we call Liz Taylor. Mylissa heard a rumor that Bette and Liz were somewhat more than just "friends". Bette is very nice to me, but hates trees , babies and other women (apart from Liz, obviously).

A Littlebird intermission

I thought I'd post the birds I did for Mylissa's Griffith park benefit show.

Here's the sketch I did on the night of Griffith Park burning that I based one of my birds on.

Check out Mylissa's gallery

I also saw this...

These are from my last zoo visit, but they seemed appropriate to post as an "extra".

ship of dreams

I was looking after Georgie all weekend so spent a lot of time at the zoo and parks. This is what I saw.....
