feeling at all optimistic about humanity? Cormac Macarthy's "The Road" will cure you of that pretty quick.

Alanis Morrisette
I found myself at work looking at the wikipedia entry on procrastination. That was when Alanis Morrisette appeared to me, as the Archangel of Irony, accompanied as always by her 10000 spoons.

Palm Springs weekend
lots of other people were also heading out for a nice quiet weekend in the desert
we had lunch at a local franchise sportsoramabeerplex (200 beers, max occupancy 578) where I observed some of the desert teens in their natural habitat.
I like the empty lots in Palm Springs.

Photo day
I went to the Zoo with Georgie on Sunday. The tiger has had cubs. We couldn't see them though because it was "photo day" and there were too many lenses and pockets and pouches and cases and "pro" jackets and tripods and SLR's in front of us. I found this strange species interesting in itself though. Oh, someone did actually have a child's stroller to carry their telephoto lens. I guess you can't beat the thrill of "shooting" an animal locked in a cage 20 feet away from you at 600X magnification.

Disturbing self portrait
My state of mind isn't actually as warped as the last weeks entries would suggest, but it's not far off.
