Bluebeard
After several goings backward and forward she was forced to bring him the key. Bluebeard, having very attentively considered it, said to his wife, "How comes this blood upon the key?"
"I do not know," cried the poor woman, paler than death.
"You do not know!" replied Bluebeard. "I very well know. You were resolved to go into the closet, were you not? Mighty well, madam; you shall go in, and take your place among the ladies you saw there."
I was gonna do an AWESOME version of this but now I don't have time so here's a crappy idea sketch instead.

Alanis Morrisette
I found myself at work looking at the wikipedia entry on procrastination. That was when Alanis Morrisette appeared to me, as the Archangel of Irony, accompanied as always by her 10000 spoons.

Palm Springs weekend
lots of other people were also heading out for a nice quiet weekend in the desert
we had lunch at a local franchise sportsoramabeerplex (200 beers, max occupancy 578) where I observed some of the desert teens in their natural habitat.
I like the empty lots in Palm Springs.

Photo day
I went to the Zoo with Georgie on Sunday. The tiger has had cubs. We couldn't see them though because it was "photo day" and there were too many lenses and pockets and pouches and cases and "pro" jackets and tripods and SLR's in front of us. I found this strange species interesting in itself though. Oh, someone did actually have a child's stroller to carry their telephoto lens. I guess you can't beat the thrill of "shooting" an animal locked in a cage 20 feet away from you at 600X magnification.

Disturbing self portrait
My state of mind isn't actually as warped as the last weeks entries would suggest, but it's not far off.

Amarcord
This scene left a pretty indelible impression when I first saw it at about age 13.
Ok here's the deal. I'm 7 days behind. Rather than play catch up I'm going to put those 7 days aside and go day to day again. At some point I'll do them...I promise.

If you happen to be in a second hand bookshop
keep an eye out for Ronald Searle's the Second Coming of Toulouse Lautrec. I'll reward you handsomely for it.

Jimmy's Super Lunch
You're never really alone when you have a sketch book...even when your bike breaks down and you have to wait 10 minutes opposite Jimmy's Super Lunch to get picked up.
